Israeli designer Luka Or combines thin paper and brass to re-create the delicate cyclamen flower for his project called ‘Botanica’ . The cyclamen flower was chosen because of it’s aesthetic attributes and seasonal nature. Using transparent paper, the object’s shape was achieved just by folding the paper.
The Botanica series represent the fragile essence of natural life via a range of industrial materials, textures, and colors. Not seeking to merely imitate life, ‘Botanica’ hopes to prompt discussion and bring attention to the constantly changing relationship between humans and the organic world.
